But Could It Happen To Me?
A 21-year old ferret owner goes to a shelter to look at adopting a second ferret. Later that evening his parents call the shelter and tells the operator that one of three ferrets bit him and they want the ferrets destroyed. After reaching an agreement with the courts to quarantine the ferrets, an emergency appeal by the parents result in the ferrets being turned over for destruction despite the fact that all three had current rabies vaccines, the operator had not seen any injury to the young man or the fact that upon leaving, the young man told the operator he would call him later to let him know which one he wanted to adopt. Litterpan Liner Debuts
Welcome to the first issue of the Litterpan Liner, the official newsletter of FOG (Ferrets on the Go). The Liner will notify club members of upcoming events, meeting dates and answer questions on the care and raising of ferrets. Each issue will contain articles on health, legislative issues, safety and shopping. Members are encouraged to submit both articles and article suggestions for future editions. The Liner is scheduled to come out on a monthly basis and should arrive by the first of each month. Articles should be submitted by the 15th of the month. Each issue will contain a classified ad section. Ads are free for members;businesses should contact the shelter for available rates. Subscriptions to the Liner are currently free for the first three months. Subscription costs after that will be used to support shelter expenses of vet, feed and the Liner cost.
